On February 9, 1996, the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) was created to oversee education in the state of Uttarakhand. This authority is solely responsible for the annual conduct of the High School (also known as 10th) and Senior Secondary (also known as 12th) tests in March, which are typically held in the first week of April each year.
