Udaipur Tailor Killed – Video Posted on Social Media

When two men killed a tailor in Udaipur and subsequently posted videos online claiming to be seeking retribution for insulting Islam, there were intermittent outbursts of violence in the Rajasthani city. As a result, a curfew was imposed in some areas of the city. Mobile internet usage has been prohibited for the next 24 hours, and the state has implemented restrictions that prevent people from attending the conference for the following 30 days.

The police in Rajasthan have detained two people on suspicion of brutally stabbing to death a tailor for making a social media post in support of debatable remarks made by a former BSP spokeswoman against the Prophet Mohammad. The accused, Gaus Mohammad and Mohd Riyaz Ansari, have been located, and Kanhaiyalal, the victim, is a well-known tailor.

Along with a team from the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC), two more police directors, a deputy inspector general, and a superintendent of police have been dispatched to Udaipur.
