PSTET 2022 || Punjab TET Notification || Exam Date Online Apply: The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) is administered to the SCERT in Punjab by the Department of School Education, Government of Punjab. The passing of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE, is one of the requirements for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools mentioned in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act.

Eligibility Criteria For PSTET 2022:- 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least a 50% grade point average and passed or scheduled to appear in the final year of the 2-year Elementary Education Diploma programme (by whatever name known). OR According to the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002, candidates must have completed or be enrolled in the last year of a 2-year Elementary Education Diploma (by whatever name known) with at least a 45 percent grade point average.

Qualification For PSTET 2022:-

(I) CLASS I-V :-

  • at least 50% in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and a 2-year Elementary Education Diploma (by what ever name known) A 2-year Elementary Education Diploma in line with the NCET and a Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) degree with at least a 45 percent grade point average (recognition norms and procedure)
  • at least 50% in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and a 1-year Bachelor of Elementary and Education (B-El-Ed.)
  • minimum of 50% in senior secondary school or its equivalent and a two-year education degree (Special Education)
  • a diploma from college and a two-year elementary education programme (by what ever name known)
  • To be conducted by the appropriate government in accordance with the guidelines established by the NCTE for the purpose, the teacher eligibility test (TET) must be passed.

(II) CLASS VI-VIII

  • Graduation and a 2-year elementary education degree.
  • Graduation with at least 50% of the grade point average and a one-year bachelor’s degree in education (B.Ed.) Graduation with at least 45% of the grade point average and a one-year bachelor’s degree in education (B.ED) in accordance with the NCTE senior secondary (or its equivalent)
  • with at least 50% of the grade point average and a four-year bachelor’s degree in elementary education (B.EL.ED) Senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at 50 percent or higher on the final exam and one year of B.Ed ( special education)

Exam Pattern:-

The TET will consist of two papers. Paper I is for someone who wants to teach classes I through V. Paper II is intended for those who want to teach grades VI through VIII. Anyone who wants to teach either classes I through V or classes VI through VIII must appear in both exams (Paper I and Paper II).

Paper Language :-

The question paper shall be bilingual – (i) in language(s) as decided by the appropriate Government; and (ii) English language.

Qualifying Marks:-

Anyone who passes the TET exam with a score of at least 60% is regarded to have passed. school administration (Government, local bodies, government aided and unaided) (a) may think about making accommodations for those who are disabled, etc., in accordance with policy. Although passing the TET does not grant someone a right to employment or recruitment because it is simply one of the eligibility requirements for appointment, (b) should give weight to the TET scores in the recruiting process.

Frequency Of Conduct Of PSTET : –

The appropriate Government should conduct a TET at least once every year.

Validity Period Of TET Certificate :

The Validity Period of TET qualifying certificate for appointment will be decided by the appropriate Government subject to a maximum of seven years for all categories. But there will be no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a TET Certificate. A person who has qualified TET may also appear again for improving his/her score.
