The Government of Uttar Pradesh founded Jananayak Chandrashekhar University (JNCU) at Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, in 2016. Its debut season took place in 2016-17, with 122 colleges from the Ballia district participating. These 122 colleges in Ballia district were once associated with Varanasi’s Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith.
